► CSE® Deactivator multitop

reaktive Concrete Surface Deactivator
– Only for top-surface (postitive) applications, with incorporated curing membrane and rain-protection function, water-based
– Recommended for cast-in-place exposed aggregate concrete applications

Product Description:
CSE-Deactivator „multitop“ is a sprayable surface-deactivator for the production of exposed aggregate concrete surfaces in the positive (top-surface-) application. CSE-Deactivator “multitop” is suitable for the production of exposed aggregate concrete surfaces in all exposure depths, from micro-exposure to the coarsest exposed aggregate concrete. CSE-Deactivator “multitop” functions reliably even under the most difficult application conditions, even where other products often fail. CSEDeactivator “multitop” performs additionally as a rain protection, which can be extremely helpful during rainy production days while the incorporated curing membrane is very helpful during hot-weather-applications. CSE-Deactivator “multitop” can be used for the production of precast concrete as well as for cast-in-place concrete pavements, such as driveways and even works reliably during the production of so-called "whisper concrete"-road surfaces, where absolutely evenly exposed concrete surfaces in a rather light exposure texture-depth are necessary in order to meet certain noise-reduction standards.

- available in 10 different exposure depth grades, from microexposure up to coarse exposure depths
- allows rapid concrete surface wash-out

Advantages in Application:
The active ingredients of the CSE-Deactivators are non-polluting and environmentally safe natural products. CSE-Deactivator “multitop” can be sprayed easily, is easy to use and dries quickly. CSE-Deactivator “multitop” is available in 10 different waschout-depth-types:

Auswaschtiefen_multitop
Please note, that these are only guidelines, because the final exposure-depth is not only controlled by the chosen type of CSE Deactivator “multitop”, but also effected, for example, by the amount of cement and sand, by the type of cement (grey/ white or fast-setting/slow-setting), by the water-cement-ratio, by the washout-periods etc.

Instructions:
CSE-Deactivator “multitop” must be agitated thoroughly with an electric drill before use.
The CSE-Deactivator “multitop” should be carefully sprayed onto the fresh concrete surface, taking care to cover the surface thoroughly and evenly. We recommend an airless-sprayer with a medium tip/nozzle size. The nozzle size depends largely on the kind of sprayer, but usually ranges between 1.2 mm and 2.5 mm and should allow a uniform spray. A spraying device, which creates a too fine mist, should be adjusted accordingly. The concrete surface must be smoothened, free of excess surface water and free of any segregations.
CSE-Deactivator “multitop” should be given time to dry before the full rain-protection is established. The drying time depends on the outside temperatures and the consumption of the material and may vary between 10 and 30 min. The choice of the right type of CSE-Deactivator “multitop” for each individual case should be made through trials. The test samples should be produced according to the exact production reality regarding the mixture of the concrete, production course and time, thickness of the panel and the resulting setting temperature. The concrete mixture and consistency must rule out the possibility of segregations and of the concrete setting too quickly. The initial setting of the concrete should not start earlier than 45 - 50 minutes after vibration resp. after the concrete has been placed and smoothened. All positive data determined in the trials should be transferred to the production process as exactly as possible. Larger changes to the established optimal production process, which cannot be avoided technically, can be compensated for by using a different type of CSE-Deactivator “multitop” or by changing the course of production or the mix design.

Wash-out:
Washing normally takes place within 24 hours after application. However it can also be carried out earlier or later, but must be tested in pilot trials, which represent original production parameters. It is very important to keep the same washout-rhythm once started. However this washing-rhythm might have to be adjusted, if the outside temperatures change extremely. The most efficient way of washing the surface is with a high-pressure water-jet. It is also possible to brush the surface and then to subsequently wash it. If the CSE-Deactivator is applied appropriately and skillfully (thin coating), no traces of the active ingredients of the CSE-Deactivator can be found in the wash-off water. The active ingredients are completely used up during the reaction with the concrete.
