This time they‘re from London and Tuscany
The OpusC magazine has already reported about the new showroom project of the luxury bathroom and sanitary retailer ROCA in London. The special concrete elements were prefabricated by one of our german customers, where also COLORFRESH® intensive, our protective coating was applied. After various trials, also with acid-etched surfaces, the star architect Zaha Hadid chose smooth, fair-faced concrete surfaces, the surface she has used before, but mostly ready-mixed applications prior to this project. In Italy asphalt paving is still popular, but step by step decorative cast-in-place concrete paving is reaching a significant market share. What makes this so special is, that it combines solid concrete paving with decorative exposed aggregate surfaces. The mix designs are created individually so that they fit harmoniously into the traditional landscape. A number of companies have specialised on the realization of such construction projects. As an example we have chosen photos of a road in the Tuscan Policella valley. London and Tuscany are always worth a visit, no doubt. Product versions for vertical application now included
By the application of MICROGEL® users often ask: “Can I apply the acid-gel vertically upright onto the concrete surface, or do I have to turn the elements into a horizontal position for MICROGEL® application?” For this reason we developed special versions of MICROGEL® with ideal vertical adhesion and a suitable sprayer. The reasons for this further development were the obvious benefits for the customers when the panels can be acid-etched whilst standing, which is saving time and money. This is now described in more detail in the updated product data sheet, which can be downloaded under “Products” at www.hebau.com.

Script of HEBAU’s lecture now online
Following our docent lecture and hands-on training during the “Wetcast Seminar” at southern Germany’s construction industry college, we have now translated the script of the lecture with the title “Wetcast concrete products – Challenges in the production and possible solutions” and made it available in the download section of www.hebau.com. As the number of “Wetcast” concrete products is constantly increasing, but at the same time also the quality requirements, we were invited to speak to wetcast concrete producers at the above mentioned seminar and to share our experience regarding the choice of the correct concrete chemicals, which is particularly important, in order to ensure that the concrete mix designs and production conditions do not have to be adjusted constantly. In this point we have been successfully supplying certain products to the industry, such as high-performance concrete mould release agents, semi-self-compacting plasticizers, “Easy-to-clean” protecting agents and specialty products for micro-exposed surfaces …, which are especially adapted to the needs of “wetcast” concrete production.
